The hotel “Al Vagon” has been managed for more than twenty years by the Grinzato family. It is located in a strategic, central position between the Rialto bridge and the Ca’ d’Oro museum, in the heart of the historical centre near the Campo SS. Apostoli where, in the church bearing the same name, there are paintings by G.B. Tiepolo.

The hotel is located in a small square, Campiello R. Selvatico, from which St. Mark’s square can be quickly reached.
The hotel has 18 rooms, all located on the first floor: 10 recently restored standard rooms, all with private bathroom and telephone, some looking out onto the canal with gondolas passing by, others looking out onto the Campiello and Calle Dolfin; 8 superior rooms, opened in October 2002 following careful restoration of an ancient ‘palazzo’, furnished in 18th century Venetian style, with private facilities, hairdryer, safety deposit box, telephone, TV and sound-proof doors and windows.

Some of these rooms look out onto the canal, others onto typical narrow Venetian streets.
The ‘Al Vagon’ restaurant has been managed by the family since 1950. It is located in the same building as the hotel, on the canal side.
It has a large inside room seating around 100 and a typical “portico-covered” area alongside the SS. Apostoli small canal where, from April to October, you can eat in a romantic atmosphere, with gondolas passing by and away from the tourist hordes.
The restaurant offers typical Venetian cuisine, both fish and meat, as well as numerous Italian and international dishes.
