Museum of Glass, Murano Island
The Museum of Glass of Murano dedicates a great exhibition, from May 23rd to November 24th 2009, to the glass production of Luciano Gaspari. It is the first retrospective dedicated to Gaspariy’s glass art in a museum and it will feature more than seventy works, dated from 1955 to 1995, most of them coming from three great collections: Salviati & C’s kilns, which now belongs to a private collector; Studio d’arte Valmore di Vicenza, collecting unique artworks directly ordered to the artist

The Second edition of the Venice Jazz Festival, scheduled from 27th July to 2nd August and organized by the Veneto Jazz, is full of important events which will take place on the dry land in Mestre too. Of course, like last year, everything will be enriched with a long list of minor events throughout Venice. The festival will be crowned with a spectacular event in the sumptuous setting of St.Mark’s Square: the concert of the singer-songwriter Paolo Conte and the Symphonic Orchestra of Venice (31st July): a special production that presents elements from the Orchestra of the La Fenice Theatre, accompanied by the artist’s large band directed by Bruno Fontaine. The Theatre La Fenice, namely the temple of world wide music, will be the stage for prestigious events, such as the concert of the trumpeter Wynton Marsalis and his Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra (28th July) and the double concert of the saxophonist Charles Lloyd in a quartet, as well as the one of All Star Band of Richard Galliano, namely the world star of accordion (29th July), accompanied by Gonzalo Rubalcaba (piano), Richard Bona (double bass), Clarence Penn (drums and percussion instruments).

The Padiglione Venezia dedicated to Murano Glassware
Biennale art 2009 Roberto Cuoghi, Sunil Gawde, Gilbert & Gorge, Sherrie Levine complete the list of artists (this year more than 90, groups included) of the 53rd International Art Exhibition, entitled Making Worlds / Banting Duniyan / Weltenmachen/ Construire des Mondes / Fazer Mundos, opened to the public in Venice (Giardini and Arsenale) from 7th June to 22nd November 2009.
The exhibition which will be held at the Padiglione Venezia will be dedicated to the artistic Venetian glassware; it is organized by the Regione Veneto in combination with the 53rd Exhibition entitled ‘Fa come natura face in foco’ and curated by Ferruccio Franzoia.
The list of the Collateral Events of the Art Biennale has been enriched with six new exhibitions too, reaching the total number of 44 Collateral Events organized throughout Venice and on
