Since 25th April the Giudecca 795 Gallery in Venice has been given exclusivity in Italy of Cholla’s art, namely a really original American artist: he is a horse! On display thirty extremely coloured watercolours painted by the ‘artist’ that paints spontaneously without any training by holding the brush in his mouth and picking the colour by himself. He is even described as a huge and semi-wild horse, so it is still more amazing that he is able to paint tiny and delicate watercolours with small and graceful movements.
Cholla’s paintings were displayed in the USA, from San Francisco to New York, and now they will be displayed in overseas countries. In Italy the success for this wonderful Mustang aged 23 arrived
On 15th April 2009 at the Marco Polo Airport in Venice, with the installation of three sensitive walls and two sensitive floors VIKI started, namely a pilot project carried out by Interactive Digital Veneto. We are dealing with multimedia interactive emplacements ready to welcome the passengers arriving at Venice Airport. With few and simple gestures tourists will be able to start dialoguing with interactive walls and floor, getting all the information they ask for.
The interactive walls and floors, operating in the Darsena area, will become animated and transmit tourist information on demand, according to the movement of travellers. The new interactive emplacements are based on the language of natural interaction, that interprets the passengers’ gestures and develops an intuitive dialogue with people who, thus, will have the opportunity of interacting in a natural way in order to get tourist information or discover the services offered by the Regione Veneto. The Sms Venice 2009 Campaign has already started with Madeleine Peiroux ‘s concert of last February and with the Venice Baroque Orchestra’s one which will be held at the Scuola di San Rocco on the 5th April 2009. Nonetheless the clou of the events will take place this summer!
2th April 2009. Last Saturday at Palace Ducale the ‘Sms Venice 2009’ project was presented in order to contribute to the collection of funds for the safeguard of the artistic and architectural properties of Venice, an event which last year made Elthon John and Giovanni Allevi be present in St. Marq’s Square. Besides the town council authorities at Palace Ducale there was also the testimonial of the campaign of this year, namely Jim Kerr, the leader of the pop group ‘Simple Minds’, who will perform in a concert in St. Marq’s Square next 14th July. The Sms Venice’ project started in 2008 owing to the joining of purposes of the Venice Town Council, the government department responsible for monuments and other treasures and Fran Tomasi & Associati. Among the aims of the campaign 2009, the restoration of some parts of the Chiesa dei Gesuiti, of the San Giorgio Maggiore’s one, of Rialto Bridge, of the Scuola di San Rocco and S. Giuseppe Church.

After the music review dedicated to Beethoven, proposed in relation to the Musical Autumn 2008 and to the review dedicated to the musical tradition of the Veneto which finished last 14th March, Ca’ Rezzonico is welcoming the concerts curated by the director Riccardo Parravicini, with the SPRING CONCERT SEASON 2009, Haydn: in the heart of the European Culture. It is a series of events not to be missed, on Saturdays, from 28th March to 9th May 2009 at 6.30 p.m.. This review, which has reached its fifteenth edition, is dedicated, this year, to Franz Joseph Haydn (1732 -1809) on the occasion of the bicentenary of his death. TD
