We have just learnt that on 12th September, in the Sala Grande del Palazzo del Cinema al Lido, during the closing ceremony of the 66th International Film Festival, the American film director, scriptwriter and actor Sylvester Stallone will be awarded with the Jaeger-LeCoultre Glory to the Filmmaker Award. Such Award has been ideated recently by the International Film Festival of Venice and organized by the Festival in cooperation with Jaeger-LeCoultre, and it will be dedicated to a personality that has left a mark

25 countries will be present with their films at the International Film Festival which will be held at Lido di Venezia from 2nd to 12th September 2009. Italy will present four films: ‘Baaria’ by Giuseppe Tornatore, as the opening film, ‘The Big Dream’ by Michele Placido, ‘The White Space’ by Francesca ComenciniGiuseppe Capotondi’s ‘La doppia Ora’. and And as jurors there are two Italian names: Liliana Cavani and Luciano Ligabue.
This year, on the occasion of the 66th International Film Festival in Venice, the new Persol 3D Award has been conceived for the best 3D Steroscopic film, which will be awarded to the most creative feature film among those in steroscopic 3D produced between September 2008 and August 2009. The award will be given, with a ceremony at the Sala Grande during the Film Festival 2009, which takes place from 2nd to 12th September 2009 at Venice Lido.
