Summer 2010: Charles Aznavour, Pat Metheny, Norah Jones in concert in St. Mark’s Square.

Concerts in St. Mark’s Square and at La Fenice Theatre

This summer Charles Aznavour, Pat Metheny and Norah Jones will play in St. Mark’s Square. Pierre Cardin’s show ‘Casanova’ and Roberto Bolle are long-awaited too.

The festival will start on 12th July with the world premiere of Pierre Cardin’s production: the new musical called ‘Casanova, loves and deceits in Venice’, whose setting up and stage designs are curated by Renato Balistreri whereas the costumes are designed by the Italian French Stylist.

On Friday July 16th Charles Aznavour who has recently published  his new album registered with the Clayton Hamilton Jazz Orchestra. Called “Aznavoice“ with an obvious reference to Frank Sinatra, he can boast of a long carrier as a singer, song-writer and film actor.

and Esperanza Spalding will be the stars of the third edition of Venice Jazz Festival. The inauguration of the Festival has been given to the Pat Metheny Group who, as a crowing achievement of an extraordinary carrier, will perform on the stage of St. Mark’s Square on Friday 23rd July with ‘The Songbook Tour’. Unique winner in the history of music of 7 Grammy Awards the one after the other for seven consecutive records, after five years of silence will be back to Italy.

Norah Jones
on July 24th will present to the Italian public her new album “The Fall”. For this much-winner of Grammy Awards this album represents a new sound experimentation with many other artists like Jacquire King (Kings of Leon, Tom Waits and Modest Mous), Ryan Adams and Will Sheff of the Okkervil Roder, but also her historical artistic partner Jesse Harris. Norah Jones will not perform with her usual piano but with her guitar, which is her favourite instrument when registering too.
Other summer concerts which must not be missed will be at La Fenice Theatre too, as part of the Show organized by Veneto Jazz.

Esperanza Spalding, namely a double bass player, singer and composer, the new firmament star of international jazz, will play on Tuesday 27th July at the Venetian theatre.

Paco de Lucia
, virtuous genius of the flamenco guitar will perform at La Fenice Theatre on Thursday 29th July during the third edition of Venice Jazz Festival. The artist will present you his new masterpiece “Cositas Buenas”, an album containing Spanish and Mexican music, with which he will revolutionize history once again.

The date of the dancing etoile Roberto Bolle’s show on St. Mark’s Square has not been fixed yet.
