The Palestinian artist Mona Hatoum with ‘Interior Landscape’ at Fondazione Querini
4th June – 20th September 2009
Fondazione Querini Stampalia, Campo Santa Margherita Formosa
The Fondazione Querini Stampalia has opened to the public last Thursday 4th June with Mona Hatoum’s Interior Landscape, namely a great exhibition collecting the British-Palestinian
artist’s works as a collateral project with the 53rd International Art Exhibition of the Biennale of Venice. The exhibition takes place both in the space dedicated to the temporary exhibitions and inside the permanent collection of the Museum in the historical building which is the ancient residence of the Querini Stampalia family. Emigration, uncertainty, conflict are clearly evoked by Mona in his works, sculptures and installations which represent objects of common use that in their ambiguity can become extremely dangerous.
