The 2008 edition of Natale di Vetro (Christmas In Glass) offers you the chance to enjoy a December rich in art and culture. Take a stroll through a festive Murano where splendid glass sculptures will be on display in the most picturesque locations, visit exhibitions, be a spectator of the traditional Glassworks Regatta, or give your children the chance to try the thrill of glass making. The main routes around the island will be illuminated with Led spheres: a new, creative and ecological way to conceive traditional Christmas decorations.
But there’s more… Some of the most famous glass factories will be open to visitors to show them the real art of glassmaking, and provide the chance to try the novelty of food prepared in the glassworks. All this and the unique attractions of the island: the Basilica of Santi Maria e Donato, the Church of San Pietro Martire and the Glass Museum,
one of the richest and most prestigious collections of glass art objects in the world. Celebrate, with the people of Murano, San Nicolò, the patron saint of glassmakers.
